So I head off for a wander one night in hopes of a novel place to photograph the 2013 Rocket III Touring.  A hole in a fence, a disused factory space, an abandoned carpark and two blokes in the neighbouring building’s carpark,
"Oi!  Mate!  You’re not casing this place are ya?""Haha, far from it." Really?  Is that how you catch a crook? By being direct? ;)Turns out their scrap metal bins have been rolled a few times and they suspected the homeless fella in the carpark.  I reckon that would be waaaay too easy unless the homeless fella has a panelvan. ;)
Anyhoo, this bike is the big bad boy of the touring world, the Triumph Rocket III Touring.  Two point three litres (YES, you’ve read that right) of triple cylinder British Beef and nothing asthmatic about it.

Something wicked this way comes

Welcome to Chain & Spokes!

Eventually this site will be the collection of ‘motorbiking’ randoms and ramblings as photographed by this dude (points to self), Alex Gardner.

From that kid who’s super stoked about her new CB125 and motorcycle classification on her license to that old bloke who engineered some race Sportster from long ago.

I’ll call it “moto-portraiture.”

Since this will be a long term project and under constant evolution as ideas surface from the depths of my noggin’, do appreciate that whilst there isn’t much on now, there is content in the pipeline.

In the meantime, twiddle your thumbs and pretend Kevin Spacey is reading this to you.  He’s just damned awesome!

First off the line so welcome one and all the Chain & Spokes!
What better way to start a new blog than with a new bike, the Triumph Explorer XC.

I’ve been working for close to a decade in the motorcycle industry and for a longer time I’ve been messing with photography however since 2008 I’ve been making a bit of a living from behind the lens and some days I’ll tell you that it sure beats sitting behind a desk.
This tumblr is dedicated to my love of motorcycles and photography and I do hope you all pop in for a visit every so often to look at and read about the bikes and the people behind it all.
If you’re in Melbourne, Australia say “hoi!” on the facebook page as I’d love to hear about you and maybe….just maybe create a portrait of you and your bike.
"Social media the shit outta this link!" (The Facebook page BTW)
Cheers,Alex
